President Barrow Kicks off Meet-The-People-Tour

Africa-Press – Gambia. President Adama Barrow has commenced his annual ‘Meet–the–People Tour’ at the North Bank Region on Monday. As part of the tour, the president is expected to visit project sites implemented under his administration. The President’s site visit commenced at the FABB Maternity Unit at the Essau District Hospital, Juffure Village Museum, Kerr Demba Holleh LBS, and Bangally NAWEC sub-station. In the late evening, the president held a mega political meeting at Maka Bala Manneh Village.

The president describes the tour as a dialogue with the electoral population, stating that there is always a need for discussion with the people who put him in power.

“The essence of the tour is to dialogue with the people who gave me the mandate to govern them. It will serve as an evaluation of my government’s achievement for its people. So, it’s important to visit them and dialogue about issues affecting them,” Barrow told the media at the Banjul Ferry Terminal.

Meanwhile, annually, the president is mandated by the Constitution of The Gambia to visit farmers and discuss issues affecting the Gambian people.
