Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, has been awarded Best Minister at the ongoing World Governments Summit in Dubai, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Minister Jobe received the award during a summit ceremony attended by global leaders and government officials. He was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Amie Njie, and the Director General of the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard), Ida Jent Njie. The award was presented by the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

According to the organisers, the award recognises Minister Jobe’s leadership, commitment to public service and efforts in positioning The Gambia as a competitive and attractive tourism destination on the global stage.

The World Governments Summit, taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, opened on 3 February and is scheduled to conclude on 5 February 2026. This year’s summit is held under the theme “Shaping Future Governments.”

The annual summit brings together heads of state and government, international organisations, policy makers, thought leaders and private sector representatives from across the world to discuss governance, innovation and global cooperation.
