Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) and APS Wallet have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at modernising and sustainably developing football in the country.

Under the agreement, APS Wallet will invest One Million Dalasi in support of the men’s Second Division League. The league has been officially renamed the GFF/APS Wallet Second Division League, reflecting the company’s commitment to grassroots football.

The partnership also includes the introduction of secure e-ticketing solutions for all GFF matches, as well as the deployment of APS Enterprise, a digital payment and financial management system. The initiative is expected to enhance transparency, efficiency, and good governance within football administration.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Kissima Tunkara, Business Development and Marketing Manager of APS Wallet, said the collaboration goes beyond sponsorship.

“This partnership is a strategic alliance that aligns technology with football to promote transparency, efficiency, and sustainable development across Gambian football,” he said.

Tunkara added that the investment in the Second Division League and the introduction of digital solutions will help build strong foundations for long-term success in both football and national development.

GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo said the partnership will enable the federation to maximise gate takings at matches, reduce cash handling, and ensure proper financial records for match-day expenses.

GFF Secretary General Lamin M. Jassey echoed similar views, noting that the partnership will strengthen financial management, enhance transparency, and modernise football administration across GFF competitions.

The collaboration is expected to lay the foundation for a modern, accountable, and commercially sustainable football ecosystem, benefiting clubs, players, administrators and fans across The Gambia.
