Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia Secondary Schools Sports Association (GSSSA) has announced that the National Schools Volleyball Championship 2025 will be held from 3 to 5 April 2026, bringing together top-performing schools from across the country.

According to the association, the championship will take place at the Serrekunda East Volleyball Court, with participating teams expected to arrive on 2 April and depart on 6 April 2026, following the conclusion of the competition.

The GSSSA stated that the tournament follows the successful completion of regional qualifiers, with qualified schools invited to compete at the national level in what is expected to be a highly competitive event.

Schools representing the North Bank Region include Farafenni Upper Basic School and Farafenni Senior Secondary School, while St. Georges Senior Secondary School and Nasir Senior Secondary School will represent the Upper River Region.

From the West Coast Region, Bottrop, Jamisa, Maahad and Kabafita will compete in the male category, while Bottrop, Jamisa, Kabafita and EC Archa Noah Senior Secondary School will feature in the female division.

In the Kanifing Municipality, St. Augustine’s, Kanifing and Charles Jow Senior Secondary School will compete in the male category, while Nusrat Senior Secondary School, Charles Jow and Kanifing will take part in the female competition.

The GSSSA has called on all participating schools to confirm their participation before the deadline to facilitate effective planning and coordination of the championship.

The association expressed confidence that the tournament will provide a platform to showcase emerging volleyball talent while promoting unity and sportsmanship among students nationwide.
