Africa-Press – Gambia. Honorable Sheriff Sarr, National Assembly Member (NAM) for Jeshwang, has condemned the on-going violence in the Israel‐U.S.‐Iran conflict, describing current military actions and their impact on civilians as “inhuman” and urging the international community to act in solidarity and uphold justice.
Speaking during Wednesday’s parliamentary session, Hon. Sarr drew attention to reports of civilians, including schoolchildren, caught in the hostilities. He also highlighted recent developments in the United States, including the passage of a death penalty law, describing it as a troubling response to the humanitarian crisis.
“If it was passed in The Gambia, they would start putting sanctions on us as a parliament. It is inhuman to see what these people are doing on this planet,” Hon. Sarr told fellow lawmakers.
The Jeshwang NAM also spoke about the hardships faced by civilians affected by the wider conflict, noting that many have been displaced, forced from their homes, and subjected to continuous bombardment. He emphasized that the suffering transcends religious and national boundaries and called on communities, both Muslim and Christian, to stand united.
“Every day they have been bombed. They have been sent home… a single nation wants to control the whole country, and nobody talks about it. It is very unfair,” he remarked.
Hon. Sarr concluded by urging nations and leaders to uphold justice and protect innocent lives caught in the conflict. “It is time we stand as a nation… It is our ummah. Palestine must win. And they will win,” he stated, calling for global solidarity in the face of on-going violence.
