Africa-Press – Gambia. President Adama Barrow has urged Gambians to cast their votes wisely in this year’s presidential election, emphasizing the importance of continuity in his visionary leadership.
The President made the remarks during a meeting at Sare Soffie village in the Central River Region on Monday, calling on residents to remain vigilant and not be misled by opposition claims that developments such as road construction, electricity expansion, and provision of clean drinking water do not constitute progress.
President Barrow argues that such infrastructure projects are key indicators of development, noting that the world’s most developed countries prioritize these sectors to boost their economies. He stressed that without a functional road network, meaningful opportunities for growth and development cannot be realized.
“We are in an election year. We must be very cautious. Use a very effective screening method to separate grains from chaff,” he said.
He further notes that opposition parties have acknowledged the progress made under his administration, even as they continue to downplay these achievements. President Barrow accused the opposition of resisting a progressive Gambia and urged citizens to take responsibility in choosing the best leadership for the country.
Highlighting the achievements of his government compared to previous administrations, President Barrow said his commitment to the nation and its people has accelerated the pace of infrastructure development across the country.
