Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia’s Under-18 boys’ and girls’ beach volleyball teams have qualified for the 2026 FIVB U18 Beach Volleyball World Championship scheduled to take place in the Netherlands in July.
The qualification follows the teams’ performances at the 2025 CAVB U18 Beach Volleyball Championship held in Abuja, Nigeria, where the Gambian boys’ team won gold, while the girls’ team finished fifth.
The boys’ team secured automatic qualification after a dominant campaign that underscored their strength and growing status in African beach volleyball.
The girls’ team also delivered a solid performance, finishing among the top teams on the continent to contribute to the country’s double qualification.
The world championship is expected to bring together top young beach volleyball talents from across the globe.
