Africa-Press – Gambia. He announced that there will be an increase in the expatriate quota tax for Non-ECOWAS Residents from D40,000 to D50,000.

He highlighted that the “ECOWAS permit A which is currently at D1,850 will increase to D3,000,” he said.

He further said “ECOWAS permit B which currently stands at D1,850 will be increased to D2,500, Non-ECOWAS permit B which stands at D3,100 will increase to D5,000,” he stated.

He noted that alien card, which is currently at D1,500, will increase to D2,500. “Entry Visa currently at D3,000 will increase to D7,000. Entry clearance currently at D3,000 will increase to D7,000. Machine readable passport currently at D1,000 will increase to D3,000. Extension currently at D1,000 remains the same. ETC which is currently at D250 remains the same,” he highlighted.

Further on his deliberation he noted that “there will be increase in excise tax on tobacco, revision of immigration fees of non-Gambians in line with regional benchmarks, introduction of an ad-valorem tax of 5% on used tyres, revision of duty waiver application fees, introduction of 5% environmental tax on second-hand goods/materials which do not currently attract an environmental tax, security levy 6% on all insurance premiums, and introduction of the deduction of rental income tax at source for all commercial rental properties,” he added.
