Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Jamanka, who has over 12 years\u2019 journalism experience, was enlisted into The Gambia Police Force (GPF) in 2014. A source who is familiar with the matter and wishes to speak to The Point on the condition of anonymity confirmed the development. The appointment, the source added, is effective immediately.<\/p>\n

Jamanka who worked in various units of the police including CID, PIU, Anti-Crime Unit, Interpol, and Charge Office & Prosecution will be assisting Spt. Lamin Njie, the spokesperson of the GPF.<\/p>\n

Until his appointment, he was the deputy station Commander at Amdalai Border Post. Mr. Jamanka, is bilingual and holds an advanced diploma in Criminal Intelligence. He was the first Daily Observer rural correspondent.<\/p>\n

Spt. Lamin Njie, the spokesperson of the GPF couldn\u2019t be reached for comments at the time of going to press. Meanwhile, efforts to reach Alieu Jamanka for confirmation also proved futile.<\/p>\n
