Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The aircraft was received on arrival by officials of the Gambia Tourism Board and Tour Operators. Adama Njie, the director of Marketing Gambia Tourism Board, confirmed that the flight came with 60 passengers after being absent for two years due to covid-19. Tui is expected to be landing twice a week all year round, which Mr. Njie said \u201cis a big plus for The Gambia.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working to make sure that flights are increased,\u201d he said, adding that this is not seasonal, but is going to be all year round tourism.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you look at the past two years, there was nothing like Tui, everything was zero, and now having them come back is a good move,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Charbel Hobeika, Tour Operator for Tui Holland, said the flight had been an all year operation before the pandemic, and it used to fly by six times a week from Holland to Banjul.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo this is the first flight from Holland since the season started, and when we look at the numbers for the future arrivals, I can see that the confidence is coming back, because people are feeling safe to travel again.\u201d<\/p>\n
