Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Mustapha Nyabally made this comments during an interview with PMO Information Officer at his office in Banjul on Thursday where he talks about his office\u2019s main functions and welfare of Civil Servants.<\/p>\n

According to Nyabally, the scheme positively improves the living conditions of many civil servants, stating that some civil servants can now own cars and homes among others.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to make sure that all civil servants are comfortable at their work places as well as focus on the achievement of their sectors\u2019 mandates. To achieve this objective, we have rolled out some incentive packages that will benefit civil servants in order to ensure sure their welfare and life styles are uplifted,\u201d DPS Nyabally stated.<\/p>\n

Explaining his office\u2019s functions, DPS Nyabally said his office\u2019s functions include daily administrative matters within the office as well as ensure that all the staff come to office on time; get their basic requirements so that they can perform their duties well.<\/p>\n

He named some of the divisions that are under him such as Finance and Administration, Personnel Management, Accounts, Procurement, and Records, adding that his office\u2019s main functions are basically administrative and financial.<\/p>\n

He called on the Civil Servants to respect the GO, PSC regulations as well as the Code of Conduct for Civil Servants, while noting that lack of discipline in the Civil Service may undermine effective and efficient service delivery.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am appealing to all heads of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to ensure that civil servants have the enabling environment to execute their work effectively,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to Nyabally, PMO is committed to uplifting the welfare of all civil servants. \u201cThis is why the office in collaboration with PSC and the Office of the Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service is coming up with new pay and grading structure for all civil servants in order to ensure that they are able to work effectively towards the achievement of the country\u2019s development objectives.\u201d<\/p>\n
