After a long break, popular Gambianmbalax sensation, Pa Omar Jack believes he has finally struck the right chord and is ready to make headlines with his new album coming soon.<\/p>\n
Famous for hits such as \u2018Fish and Chips\u2019, \u2018Love O Metre\u2019 and \u2018JigueniGambia\u2019, the rising singer is focused and ready to showcase his musical artistry again.<\/p>\n
Starting out his musical career in his early school days, POJ as fondly called first burst onto the musical platform in mid 2000s with a clear vision and mission to make a difference.<\/p>\n
The Seattle-based singer is optimistic that this upcoming album, which will be his fourth, would certainly make a great difference in the country\u2019s music scene.<\/p>\n
\u2018This will be my fourth album. My first album is called \u2018Niniyo\u2019 or simply \u2018Fish and Chips\u2019. Then came another hit album called \u2013\u2018Lover O Metre\u2019 and then the third masterpiece \u2013\u2018Gambia Cha-kanam\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n
Apart from these albums, POJ also released couple of songs namely-I\u2019m Crazy in 2017 by producer Hakim of Sunland music.<\/p>\n
He also dropped another superb hit a year later titled \u2013\u2018Sarra\u2019,which is an afro-cum acoustic beat featuring AmadouSuso and produced at JP records in Seattle,Washington.<\/p>\n
This hit song also featured multi-instrumentalists.<\/p>\n
Since then he has been working underground and with a vast collection of materials at hand now, he is looking forward to dropping his new album.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe name of my upcoming album is called \u2018Sargal-len\u2019,in which I paid tributes to Gambian music veterans.The album is expected in December or January 2020. The 8-track album will be on I-tunes, Spotify and Amazon and other global music distribution sites\u201d.<\/p>\n
The forthcoming masterpiece, he added, features hit songs such as a collaboration with The Gambia\u2019s king of Kora -JalibaKuyateh titled -\u2018Ngembuna\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cIt also features \u2018Jokh-ko-cheram\u2019 and\u2018Sargal-len\u2019, which is also a single in the album and a song in which I dedicate to \u2018Borom- kerr\u201d.<\/p>\n
He hinted that the album would be strictly an all mbalaxaffair with few international songs.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the country\u2019s current music, POJ stated; \u201cJust as usually The Gambia\u2019s music lacks some basic ingredients, which includes the much-needed support from government. We need an active institution and the Tourism ministry needs to establish something for the country\u2019s music industry. This includes the Copyright regime, which is created by the government.For instance, if foreign artistes are to perform they have pay tax, which is also call a working permit, just as Gambian artistes do in foreign countries\u201d.<\/p>\n
Aside his musical career, Pa Omar Jack also operates his own recording studio based in Seattle, Washington called JP Records and multimedia, which incorporated his online TV called Price TV. Since he learnt how to edit songs, his ambitions are to expand his multi-media network to The Gambia someday.<\/p>\n
Born on the 28th August, 1980, POJ is a 38-year-old mbalaxsensation who contradicts the notion that \u2018mbalax stars from The Gambia\u2019 cannot give a good performance.<\/p>\n
It was during the early 2000s, when this inspirational performer hit international spotlight. Sooner than anticipated he came to the attention of famous promoters such as Kebba Taylor, Hakim of Sunland studios, and ElizeNachif of Yellow gate studios to name a few.<\/p>\n
