Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>“The project was signed and we started the work last year after July, and so far as you can see, this is the country building for the Jabang Substation,” according to Daniel Tan. He assured that “most of the civil works have been completed and also most of the fencing has almost been done.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe next step will be the installation of the transformer. This is the 225 KV transformers substation. So as most of you know, this is the first high voltage transformer in the Greater Banjul Area, in addition to the OMVG Substation.”<\/p>\n

“After completion of this project, this project will be interconnected with those high voltage transmission lines to import the green energy from the OMVG Subregion.”<\/p>\n

“It will be a great improvement for your current stability of the electricity network. So far, the equipment have been inspected and are about to be shipped to The Gambia, as the installation work is expected to be started in April and May.”<\/p>\n

“So currently, everything is going smoothly, and probably by the end of the year, the project will be completed. That is our expectation at the moment,” he said in addition.<\/p>\n

He concluded by re-assuring that they would make sure that such a project, which is a key project in the energy sector, is finished on time “to benefit the local people and improve current instability of the power system.”<\/p>\n
