Also, we accepted those we can identify as Gambian nationals\u2026However, what we cannot do is to accept people described as criminals who are not verified as Gambians&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, other section of the media is arguing that \u201cthe right-wing press has taken the country hostage\u2026vulnerable people including asylum seekers are rejected and ostracised\u2026while others are accepted and welcomed\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A Home office spokesperson responding to our inquiries said: \u201cThe Gambia is one of our most trusted allies in that region\u2026We rightly pointed out that the UK takes back its citizens who commit crimes abroad.
