Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>A source who is familiar with the matter confirmed the development, saying the case will be presided over by Justice Ngui Mboob Janneh. Banta Keita has since been at large after the seizure of the biggest ever cocaine in the country by the narcotic agency in which he\u2019s believed to be involved.<\/p>\n

The 118 bags weighed a gross 2 tonnes, 952kg, and 850g. The cocaine was discovered in a search of a container shipped from the port of Guayaquil in Ecuador through Algeciras in Spain, and then to The Gambia.<\/p>\n

Gov\u2019t urges civil servants to ignore \u201cmemo\u201d trending on social media<\/p>\n

The Gambia Government wishes to inform all Civil Servants that a memo trending on Social Media on purported rescheduling of the new pay and grading scale to 1st January 2023, is grossly false and misleading, designed to cause anxiety and disgust among the population.<\/p>\n

Civil Servants are particularly urged to ignore this repugnant memo intended to demoralise a hardworking and patriotic workforce that deserves nothing less than the best. The Gambia Government remains resolute in improving the welfare of all citizens and ever since coming to office that has been the priority of President Adama Barrow and his Government.<\/p>\n
