Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Gambia have been rated 123rd best footballing country in the world in the latest ranking released by the global football governing body FIFA on Thursday.<\/p>\n

This latest development came two days after the Scorpions of The Gambia progressed into the group stage qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n

Prior to the current ranking, The Gambia was in 125th position with 1135.18 points but the country has now moved two places in the latest ranking to 125th position with 1139.19 points.<\/p>\n

In Africa, The Gambia are ranked 33rd best football nation moving ahead the likes of Angola, Tanzania and Liberia respectively. This success came following Gambia\u2019s elimination of Chad in the preliminaries of the 2023 Afcon qualifiers to Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n

Globally, Brazil is the number one best team in the world, followed by Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Netherlands, making the top 10 respectively. The list of 11-20 positions has Denmark, Germany, Uruguay, Switzerland, USA, Croatia, Colombia, Wales, Sweden, and Senegal respectively.<\/p>\n
