Some even said that the President should have addressed the three years-five years squabble over his tenure. It is clear that an official pronouncement would have shifted the debate towards a more constructive and conclusive perspective.<\/p>\n
There is however the separation of powers. The executive has its say and the National Assembly must also have its say. The National Assembly members adjourned the sitting meant for them to subject the address of the president to critical review with the executive retaining the right to reply.
