Hon. Kebba K Barrow, majority leader and member for Kombo South, has assured Gambians that the National Assembly will preserve the supreme interest of the citizenry without fear or favor or backgrounds.<\/p>\n
Hon. Barrow made this remark on Friday while moving the Motion for the Assembly to adjourn sine die.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWe thank the people of the Gambia for the trust and confidence repose in us. We will reassure them of the assembly\u2019s commitment to reserving the supreme interest of the Gambians without fear or favor or backgrounds\u201d.<\/p>\n
He added \u201cI want to thank honorable members for their foresight and commitment to duty. I also want to thank the Clerk and Support Staff of the Assembly for their valuable support to the Legislature\u201d.<\/p>\n
In giving a rundown of the national assembly fourth ordinary session, he said the legislature adopted reports of the respective Committees among them the report of the select committee on environment report on NGOs, the national assembly delegation to the 140th\u00a0Inter Parliamentary Union General Assembly, the National Assembly Delegation to the 74th\u00a0Executive Committee of the African Inter-Parliamentary Union and Third Extraordinary meeting of PUIC Executive Committee.<\/p>\n

He said \u201cThe sessions also witnessed oral questions and answers with the various ministers on matters regarding their various ministries. The Ministers include Ministers of Information, Education, Trade, Energy, Agriculture, Interior, Fisheries, Works, Foreign Affairs and Lands \u201c.<\/p>\n
He also stressed that the sessions also witnessed tabling and considerations of the revised standing orders of the National Assembly, State of the Nation Address, motion on the treaty on Dakar- Abidjan Corridor, convention on suppression of unlawful acts relating to international civil aviation and the supplementary protocol on the convention for the suppression of unlawful seizure of civil aviation, bilateral air services agreements between the Gambia and United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Turkey among others.<\/p>\n
He continued that among the agreements tabled before deputies includes, \u201cthe agreement for the confirming of the diplomatic status, immunities and privileges to the African Import and Export Bank in the Gambia. the agreement between Gambia and Geneva Center for Democratic Control of Armed Forces for the establishment of DCAF Office in the Gambia( which is referred back for further ratification) and the Gambia Information and Communication Agency Bill 20199( which was passed with amendments)\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
