Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>As part of the revival of maritime links between Morocco and Spain, the Spanish shipping company is interested in entering the Moroccan marine shipping industry.<\/p>\n

Casablanca – The Spanish cargo company Marguisa Shipping Lines has announced the launch of operations following the announcement of the purchase of a share in the NAL Maroc agency in Morocco.<\/p>\n

According to the Spanish company’s records, the move will take effect next week on June 1.<\/p>\n

Younes Lamarti, general director of Nal Maroc, confirmed the news, adding that clients can contact the business if they have any questions about the services.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1990, Marguisa Shipping Lines is Spain’s largest international container and project cargo line. \u200b\u200bIt provides frequent services to and from West Africa as part of the Sea & Ports holding company.<\/p>\n

Because the ports of Tangiers Medina and Tangiers Med are among the largest ports of the Mediterranean basin, they attract many foreign shipping companies.<\/p>\n

Due to a diplomatic dispute with Madrid that began in the spring of last year, Morocco had banned passenger movement over the Mediterranean with its northern neighbor since the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020. The North African country did not restart maritime travel with Spain when it reopened its borders earlier this year, on February 7.<\/p>\n

In the midst of the months-long diplomatic feud with Madrid, Rabat barred Moroccan immigrants residing in Europe from transiting via Spanish ports last summer.<\/p>\n

However, Spain\u2019s endorsement of Morocco\u2019s Autonomy Plan and a recent visit to Rabat by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez have given a new impetus to diplomatic relations between Madrid and Rabat.<\/p>\n

The two countries have in recent weeks announced the start of a \u201cnew phase\u201d in their relations on the basis of a road map that includes several points, the most prominent of which is the reopening of maritime travel between the two countries.<\/p>\n
