Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The training is intended to equip the Petroleum Inspectors with the requisite knowledge and technical know-how in putting out fire and fire-related issues. The training is also aimed at enhancing regulatory capacity in aspects of inspection and monitoring across the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the training session held at PURA Headquarters, Malamin Darboe, Director of Human Resource at PURA said the training was necessitated due to the proliferation of petrol stations in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou will eventually be equipped and be able to work diligently in your field. To save lives and property is critical to your job as Petroleum Inspectors,\u201d Darboe stated.<\/p>\n

He thanked The Gambia Fire and Rescue Services for their long-standing partnership with PURA. The lead trainer was Lamin S. Jadama of The Gambia Fire and Rescue Services who took participants through fundamentals of fire safety.<\/p>\n

The training features fire hazards and risk, classification of fire, handling and usage of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation procedures and practical firefighting.<\/p>\n
