Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The year\u2019s AGM provides members to discuss and review matters of concern to the foundation as well as determine the ways in achieving their targets. FDNF seeks to contribute to the development of the educational system in The Gambia by providing financial support to outstanding science students, raise awareness about cancer and support individuals and families affected by cancer. It also offers mentorship programmes for young people, organizes seminars and motivational lectures as well as offers scholarships to students.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Momodou Jasseh, Chairperson of the foundation said after three eventful years, and as a requirement stipulated in the constitution of the foundation they are gathered to take stock of the foundation\u2019s achievements; and to assess and re-define member\u2019s vision to bring about more success in the foundation.<\/p>\n

This, he added, would also help young minds achieve excellence in a rather dynamic and increasingly challenging socio-economic and cultural environment.<\/p>\n

Jasseh extended appreciation to the founder, advisors and trustees of the foundation, whom he described, as phenomenal and continue to demonstrate deep sense of commitment and dedication to the success of the foundation.<\/p>\n

“To the Government of The Gambia, through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, I again, on behalf of the Advisors, Trustees, Members and Friends of the foundation, extends sincere appreciation for bestowing on us such an honour of naming the Gynaecology Centre after Francis DeGaulle Njie, and for continuing to accord us the opportunity to work with the Hospital.” he said.<\/p>\n
