Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>My Ministry will be giving scholarship to your students every year. MAJaC is like all other institutions and we cannot be promoting TVET and exclude MAJaC. So, everybody must be given their share because we are here to serve,\u201d Gomez stated.<\/p>\n

The Minister highlighted that MAJaC is playing a key role in the development trajectory of the country and therefore assured the institution of his ministry\u2019s full support in their future projects. Consequently, he urged students to continue with their good academic work and serve different media houses in the country.<\/p>\n

Samba Bah, Acting Managing Director and English language lecturer at MAJaC said it was prudent to have the Minister visit the school which is one of the leading journalism training institutions in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need capacity for some of our staff and most importantly scholarships. We realize that, some of our students find it difficult to pay their tuition fees and we would want if the Minister can facilitate scholarships for some of the students,\u201d Mr Bah said. Bah thanked the Minister for his visit.<\/p>\n

Ndey Ceesay, Vice President of the Student Union appealed for the standardisation of both the Institution\u2019s Radio and Television Studios to ease the burden on students during their practical. She also pledged for the expansion of the campus to accommodate more students and make the environment conducive for learning. The visit by the Minister was part of a familiarisation tour to learning institutions.<\/p>\n
