Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>tropical wave, located near the Cabo Verde Islands off the West African coast, is showing signs that it could become a tropical cyclone.<\/p>\n

The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said the wave \u201cis producing disorganised showers and thunderstorms.\u201d<\/p>\n

NHC forecast that environmental conditions are marginally conducive for gradual development of this system while it moves westward to west-north-westward at 15 to 20 miles per hour across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic during the early to middle part of this week.<\/p>\n

The wave has a 20 per cent chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next five days, according to NHC\u2019s forecast.<\/p>\n

If the system becomes a tropical storm, it will be called Danielle.<\/p>\n
