Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Gambia Football Federation President-elect, Lamin Kaba Bajo has vowed to do everything possible as soon as possible to deliver the current football development infrastructures possible as promised in his manifesto.<\/p>\n

President-elect Kaba Bajo was speaking with the press shortly after his election to the Gambia Football Federation for his third term in office after defeating Sadibou Kamaso 51 votes to 25 in 77 votes cast with one invalid vote.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most urgent work on my table right now is the qualification to the Afcon 2024 tournament and also the continuation of the football infrastructure projects. I will do everything possible to ensure that those projects are delivered as soon as possible,\u201d said Lamin Kaba Bajo.<\/p>\n

He revealed that his election into the office for the third term in office means he has further challenges but, noted that they aim to professionalise the Gambian league in the 2024\/2025 season as stated in their manifesto<\/p>\n

The GFF boss noted that they will start work immediately to start to deliver what they promised in their manifesto<\/p>\n

He went on to express satisfaction in the whole process of the elections, adding that the election was highly contested in terms of the procedures to ensure that it is not going to be a rubber stamp election.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be interesting to you that the rules are observed and enforced to ensure that it is not going to be a rubber stamp election. I am someone who accepts dissenting views and I adore criticism objectively. Because this will only make me and my team better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about their leaked secret meeting with some of the delegates during the eve of the election in one of the hotels, he replied, \u201cThis is an allegation is a reality. The people who have identified themselves with me came together so that we further organized ourselves and prepared ourselves. That\u2019s not an allegation.\u201d<\/p>\n

We went further to say that the people who voted for him were not induced in any way by his camp, adding that there were people who attended that meeting and are highly respected but later during the election they voted against them.<\/p>\n

Reconciliation<\/p>\n

He went on to call all stakeholders to come forward and join hands to work on the development of football in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would call any other who we feel have a role to play in any way, to reach to him or her to see to come forward so that we can develop football. We also call on people to come forward who have any initiative towards the development of Gambian football.\u201d<\/p>\n
