A witness has told the court that on the night of June 23, 1995, when former finance minister Koro Ceesay was killed, he found that the house of Yankuba Touray was muddy and not normal.<\/p>\n
Ensa Mendy, a former bodyguard of ex- AFPRC junta member Yankuba Touray yesterday continued his testimony in the trial of Touray, who is charged with the killing of Koro Ceesay. Ceesay was killed on the night of June 23 1995, allegedly in the house of the accused.<\/p>\n
The witness who served as a bodyguard to Yankuba Touray, continued from where he stopped on Monday when he said on that night, they were sent to the beach by the accused purportedly to look for a boat or ship which they could not find.
\nThe witness testified that the accused called him back to his residence between 1:00am and 2:00am from the beach.<\/p>\n
The witness further testified that upon his return, he went inside the compound where he saw the accused person walking towards his bedroom from the sitting room.
\nHe said his bedroom was just opposite the accused person\u2019s bedroom and explained that when he stood at his bedroom door, he observed that the house wasn\u2019t looking normal.
\nHe further pointed out that the place was muddy with water and he noticed that the accused person\u2019s military fatigue placed on the floor had a burn on the side of the pocket.
\nHe told the court that he soliloquized saying something must have happened in the house and then went into his bedroom and slept.<\/p>\n
The witness revealed that the following morning he went to the accused person\u2019s office (ministry of local Government and lands) where he heard that Ousman Koro Ceesay, minister of finance had been killed.
\nEnsa Mendy told the court that it was then rumours circulated that Koro was killed at the accused person\u2019s residence.
