According to him, journalists should see themselves as voices of the people and should not compromise with standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJournalism has been evolving. During our time, we trained on the job. Technology has compromised certain standards of the profession to the extent of making journalists lazy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>For her part, the vice president of The Gambia Press Union (GPU), Isatou Keita, who was also part of the panelists, said the Media Council and the GPU have been engaging in numerous capacity building for their members, particularly areas regarding ethics.<\/p>\n<p>She addressed journalists to make the best use of the \u2018Cherno Jallow Charter on Ethical Reporting\u2019 whilst stating that ethical issues could be wide.<\/p>\n<p>Founders Day is part of events organised by the School of Journalism and Digital Media Students\u2019 Association to commemorate the work of journalists and journalism in shaping the media landscape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\">Gambia<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Gambia.
