Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>He stated that the imams are shouldering one of the huge and most challenging responsibilities such as leading Muslims in prayers in their various communities with other related social responsibilities.<\/b><\/p>\n

He further appealed to President Adama Barrow for the provision of enough water and electricity supply, stating that their communities are currently lacking enough of water supply.<\/p>\n

He added only few community members have access to water and electricity, saying that is a huge challenge.<\/p>\n

Imam Jallow mentioned that even those with electricity supply keep suffering from frequent power outages and with low voltage in some cases.<\/p>\n

With regard to health, he noted that despite the fact they are currently having few health centers with good structures. He revealed that there is still a lack of drugs at the health facilities.<\/p>\n

Also speaking, Samba Ndow, a resident of Samba Njabeh village, also stated that all those remote villages that are far in the interior are neglected. \u201cAs Gambians, we all need enough potable water and effective electricity supply,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

Baba Jerry Jah also highlighted similar sentiments on behalf of Alh. Babucarr Faye, the alkalo of Barra.<\/p>\n

The tour continues through the Hakalan Road project site visit and further to Ndungu Kebbeh village where the president was expected to hold a general meeting with those communities.<\/p>\n
