Tom Saintfiet and Gambia failed to go further than their last month\u2019s height in the latest Fifa rankings,https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/gambia\/ can report.<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Gambia\u2019s September plummet was instigated by the two-legged defeat to Angola which ended the West Africans hopes of sealing spot in the group stage qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.<\/p>\n

The Scorpions dropped five places occupying 166th in the world, the same strata they managed October 2018.<\/p>\n

It was thought they would climb up a step or so in this October\u2019s rankings, but the Scorpions failed to register any gains, sitting stagnant on 166th in the globe even after scraping past a lowly Djibouti in the preliminary play-offs on penalties.<\/p>\n

The result means Gambia also remain at 47th in Africa ahead of only Chad, Djibouti, South Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Seychelles, Sao Tome e Principe\u2013rarely any footballing hotbeds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
