Coalition 2016 aimed to put partisan consideration behind and put in place a transitional government that would put partisan politics on ice and unify the country under an independent executive whose primary role would be to mobilise all human and material resources to build the instruments and institutions of the state and facilitate a level ground for multi-party contest within three years of administering the state.<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We are informed by the Vice President that Cabinet took a decision during its first sitting to abandon the coalition agreement in favour of the five-year mandate given to a normally seated president.<\/p>\n

The greatest political deception the Gambian people could be subjected to is to have thousands of people in the street on just a single day to protest and demand that Barrow respects his promise only to be faced or followed by thousands of people demanding for Barrow to stay for five years.<\/p>\n

Such type of movements only helps to create two divided camps capable of nothing more than showing hostility to each other without giving any hope of system change. Gambians should put themselves above struggling and shouting for nothing.<\/p>\n

Gambians should be ready to vote with their heads and not with their raw emotions. No one should accept to be a toy in the hands of one fellow citizen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
