State House of The Gambia<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Adama Barrow on Saturday received in audience members of the Gambia Wrestling Association at the State House.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The group came to discuss matters relating to the upgrading and development of the sport as it represents both a leisure entertainment and of cultural significance to the country.<\/p>\n

The delegation comprises of representatives from wrestling stakeholders across the country, as the national association registered over 4,000 wrestlers and their fans countrywide.<\/p>\n

The President, along with officials of the Ministries of Health, Culture and Sports lauded the association for their steadfastness in keeping the sport alive against the many odds.<\/p>\n

President Barrow outlined plans that his government has put in place for the development of sports in general, as the line Ministry\u2019s budget has doubled in the next year\u2019s budget; plus other incentives like the D1-per-call sports levy on GSM operators.<\/p>\n

He assured them of the government\u2019s attention in forging ahead and is optimistic that more investments would follow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
