{"id":3319,"date":"2019-12-04T15:29:03","date_gmt":"2019-12-04T15:29:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/gambia\/?p=3319"},"modified":"2019-12-04T15:29:03","modified_gmt":"2019-12-04T15:29:03","slug":"driver-ordered-to-compensate-policewoman-d50000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/all-news\/driver-ordered-to-compensate-policewoman-d50000","title":{"rendered":"Driver ordered to compensate policewoman D50,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td-post-header\">\n<header class=\"td-post-title\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\">Principal Magistrate Omar Cham of Brikama Magistrates\u2019 Court yesterday convicted and sentenced a driver to pay a fine of D25,000 in default to serve one year imprisonment.<\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"td-post-content tagdiv-type\">\n<p>Ansumana Camara was found guilty of reckless driving, causing harm to a police officer who was on duty.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Camara was also ordered to pay D50,000 as compensation to the victim, Bintou Colley in default to serve three years imprisonment.<br \/>\nAnsumana Camara hit Bintou Colley, a police officer with a motor vehicle at Mandinaba Police check-point.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-g-rec td-g-rec-id-content_inlineleft tdi_12_ecc td_block_template_4 \"><\/div>\n<p>Bintou was left unconscious and was immediately taken to Brikama hospital where she was treated.<br \/>\nIn another development, Principal Magistrate Cham transferred the criminal case involving one Ousman Dibba to the High Court.
