{"id":35699,"date":"2023-05-25T16:14:41","date_gmt":"2023-05-25T16:14:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/uncategorized\/jawara-wins-heroes-philanthropism-award"},"modified":"2023-05-25T16:34:05","modified_gmt":"2023-05-25T16:34:05","slug":"jawara-wins-heroes-philanthropism-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/all-news\/jawara-wins-heroes-philanthropism-award","title":{"rendered":"Jawara wins Heroes philanthropism award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Gambia. <\/strong><\/span><b>The CEO of GACH Global and founder of Abubakary Jawara Foundation, a local charity has been awarded the Heroes Award night philanthropism medal.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Ten Gambians from different fields were on 13 May 2023 conferred with awards recognising their roles and impact in society on the night.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by the online news portal, The Fatu Network, the third edition of the awards also saw the president of the Ecowas Commission, Dr Omar Touray, conferred the person of the year award for being the first Gambian to hold the eminent position.<\/p>\n<p>Other awardees are Bubacarr \u2018Bob\u2019 Keita who transformed his acquittal from rape trial to a cause ce\u0301le\u0300bre charity foundation helping the less privileged.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to his award, Abubakary Jawara thanked the Gambian people who voted for him and assured them of his continued service to humanity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am grateful for your support and for taking time to vote for me as the philanthropist of the year. It is an immense honour to receive this award and this couldn\u2019t have been possible without your trust. Your encouragement and trust has inspired me to continue working hard towards making more positive impacts in the lives of Gambians especially the poor and the needy,\u201d Jawara said.<\/p>\n<p>Jawara added: \u201cI am humbled by your unwavering support and I want to assure you that I will continue to share the little things I have with you at all given opportunities. You will continue to feel my positive present in the service of The Gambia. I want to once again express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for making this possible.
