Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Trust Bank Gambia Limited has awarded the top 10 outstanding students of the 2022 GABECE examination as part of the bank\u2019s traditional Excellence in the Millennium Awards, at a program held in Banjul.<\/b><\/p>\n

The award was meant to recognize and motivate the students for their incredible performance and contribution to the Gambia education sector.<\/p>\n

Each awardee received a Certificate of Excellence, cash of D5,000, and a computer tablet. The school that produced the candidate with the best results received D10,000 while the school with the best results received D20,000.<\/p>\n

The awardees are Aminata K Bojang, Gambia Methodist<\/p>\n

Academy, Mamud Touray, SOS Hermann Gmeiner Upper Basic School, Fatoumatta Kanteh, ST Therese\u2019s Upper Basic School, Fatima Jafuneh, Ann Marie Rivier, Mariama Jallow, Mansa Colley Bojang Upper Basic School, Siaka Touray, ST Therese\u2019s Upper Basic School, Fatoumata Barrow, Ann Marie Rivier, Abdoulie Jallow, Charles Jow Memorial Academy and Kenbugul S.H Baldeh, St. Peter\u2019s Upper Basic School.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Ms. Njilan Senghore, Managing Director of TBL said: \u201cThis award is a testament to your achievements and serves as a reminder that your efforts are not going unnoticed, Trust bank noticed it. The award is not just a recognition of academic excellence it is also a celebration of character, dedication, and commitment to making a difference in life, especially in a world where there is so much distraction you have shown that you have the skill and determination to make an impact.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms. Njilan expressed gratitude to WAEC for always providing them with the data of the 10 top students and congratulated all outstanding students saying they are an inspiration and she has no doubt that they will continue to excel in the future.<\/p>\n

Mr. Dembo Sawaneh, a WAEC representative, said the business of education is expensive to be left with the State alone, and he is calling on other sectors to emulate the Trust Bank and continue to support education in The Gambia.<\/p>\n

He, therefore, expressed gratitude to the students and Trust Bank for being true to their tradition of benevolence and promotion of education.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Minister of Education and Senior Education, Ebrima Sisawo, Permanent Secretary at MoBSE congratulated the students and urged them to maintain the momentum, noting this is just the beginning and the journey is very long.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis should be a reminder to you that we have confidence in your achievements and let us not lose that confidence in you. Knowing that in the next three years, you are going to face another important exam. We would be looking out for your names in that list because you have already set up a standard,\u201d he told the awardees.<\/p>\n
