Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Newcastle United<\/b> confirmed<\/b> the acquisition of former Odense Boldklub forward Yankuba Minteh to kick the week off, and Feyenoord followed suit by announcing<\/b> the loan of the youngster to their club for the 2023\/24 season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am looking forward to playing for the reigning Dutch champion,\u201d Minteh told Feyenoord\u2019s official media. \u201cIt is an honor to wear the Feyenoord shirt. I am grateful for this opportunity and will do everything I can to improve as a footballer. I am sure that Feyenoord will help me achieve my goals \u2013 just as I am convinced that I can in turn help Feyenoord in its sporting ambitions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Gambian forward completed a move to Tyneside ahead of next season by a fee initially quoted at \u20ac7m.<\/p>\n

Minteh arrives at Newcastle\u2014or better said for now, Feyenoord\u2014 from OB Odense of the Danish Superliga having scored four goals and assisted six bangers in the competition.<\/p>\n

OB Odense of the Danish top-flight division\u2014Minteh\u2019s current club\u2014shouldn\u2019t be mistaken for KV Oostende<\/b>, the organization in which Newcastle\u2019s owners from Saudi Arabia (PIF) are seemingly interested in acquiring shares as we reported back in April, which got relegated from Belgium\u2019s Jupiler League to the second division this season.<\/p>\n

Minteh will join Feyenoord at the start of the preparation for the new season and spend the full year in Holland with the champions.<\/p>\n

NUFC sporting director, Dan Ashworth, said that the club is\u201dvery pleased to be bringing a player with Yankuba\u2019s high potential,\u201d adding that the lad \u201chas done extremely well in his first full season in Denmark,\u201d and that he \u201chas a promising career ahead of him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Explaining the choice of Feyenoord as his next step, Ashworth revealed that it was picked because it\u2019s a club \u201cthat also has a strong development record of its own.\u201d<\/p>\n
