Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Addressing the valedictory session of the 18th Conclave on India-Africa Growth Partnerships, His Excellency, the Vice President of The Gambia Muhammed Jallow, on behalf of President Adama Barrow, reaffirmed The Gambia\u2019s commitment to good governance and sustainability that will usher in a new dawn for The Gambia\u2019s prosperity and development in all spheres.<\/b><\/p>\n

Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CIC) and Exim Bank, the conclave brought together at least 28 African ministers who converged on the Indian Capital, New Delhi to discuss Africa\u2019s development objectives and opportunities for Indian businesses to expand their markets across the continent.<\/p>\n

Under the theme \u201cCreating an Attractive and Conducive Business Environment for Investment and Trade\u201d, this year\u2019s conclave provides an excellent platform for policymakers, business leaders, and experts to exchange ideas, share best practices, and strengthen partnerships between India and Africa. Some 24000 African students currently live and study in India.<\/p>\n

The Gambian VP Jallow had dinner with Indian VP, Jagdeep Dhankhar with fruitful discussions on the long-standing Indo-Gambian relations and investment opportunities with potentials for growth across the sectors from real estate development to agriculture, agro-processing to tourism, transport and logistics to renewable energy, education to healthcare and mining. VP Jallow also paid homage to India for the tragic train crash that recently claimed several lives.<\/p>\n

The Gambia with its young democratic government is undergoing significant institutional transformations after years of daunting challenges. VP Jallow told the colorful convergence of world leaders that challenges cannot be immediately resolved as expected, but with the commitment from the government and its development partners, the country remains on the right trajectory to deliver remarkable democratic dividends.<\/p>\n

The Gambian VP is accompanied by several ministers, The Government Spokesperson, Permanent Secretaries, and Senior Government Officials.<\/p>\n
