Yaya Kanaji, Imam of Jarra Sutukung, in the Lower River Region has called on parents to give honest advice to their children and guide them in the right direction that can protect them from sexual violence.<\/h1>\n

Speaking recently at his home village as part of the 16 Days Activism nationwide caravan tour to sensitize the general public on Gender Base Violence (GBV), Imam Kanaji said parents and leaders must take responsibility and discuss with children in order to protect them from harmful effects.<\/p>\n

Kebba Fatty, also a native of Jarra Sutukung called for change of attitude, while calling on parents to always communicate with their children regarding matters of GBV.<\/p>\n

Addressing students at Barra, Isatou Jallow, representative of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education advised students to take their education seriously and to desist from engaging in early sex that can hinder their future.<\/p>\n

She further encouraged them to report any sexual violence attempted on them by any individual to the relevant authorities for prosecution.<\/p>\n

Fatou Ceesay, a representative from the Women\u2019s Bureau also talked on the negative health impact of early s.e.x.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
