Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Ebou Faye, the second vice president of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), has responded to criticism from people that he always sits on the Scorpions senior national team\u2019s technical bench during Gambia’s international games.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to Faye, he is always there on the invitation of the national team head coach, Tom Saintfiet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI agree that I should not be sitting on the Senior National team\u2019s bench but I am always there on the invitation of the coach and not necessarily as a technician,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He explained that his sitting on the Scorpions bench started in Turkey when the Team Manager Ousman \u2018Cho\u2019 Drammeh was not there and he deputized to serve as the Team Manager.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince then, the coach always wants me to be there but normally, I am not supposed to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Faye noted that he is not really bothered by the criticism, adding that any one serving in public office must accept criticism.<\/p>\n

\u201cOthers criticise us while others appreciate what we are doing. Sometimes, we look at whether certain criticisms are constructive with facts or just opinions. If they are facts, we accept them,\u201d he added. \u201cConstructive criticism is good and helps one grow as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n
