{"id":4110,"date":"2019-12-24T20:02:03","date_gmt":"2019-12-24T20:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/gambia\/?p=4110"},"modified":"2019-12-24T20:02:03","modified_gmt":"2019-12-24T20:02:03","slug":"ag-chambers-studying-case-file-on-alleged-passport-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/all-news\/ag-chambers-studying-case-file-on-alleged-passport-fraud","title":{"rendered":"AG Chambers Studying Case File on Alleged Passport Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td-module-meta-info\">\n<p>The government\u2019s spokesperson on Thursday told this paper that the case pertaining to the alleged diplomatic passport scandal is under study pending final decision by the Justice Minister.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"td-post-text-content td-post-content tagdiv-type\">\n<p>Ebrima Sankareh remarked: \u201cWhen a file is submitted for legal advice, it will be studied to know how many people are going to be prosecuted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The file is with the Attorney General chambers and the government is also awaiting their final decision, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Gambian security agents earlier completed their investigation into the alleged diplomatic passport fraud and recommended 14 people for prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty were arrested in connection with the scandal, according to the government\u2019s spokesperson.
