Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Sabou United FC on Friday grabbed their place in the 2023\/2024 Brikama \u2018nawetan\u2019 proper after thrashing Gidda FC 3-1 in their play-off match played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.<\/b><\/p>\n

Both sides were enthusiastic to beat each other to advance to the Brikama wet season biggest football festivity proper.<\/p>\n

Lamin Trawally opened the scores for Sabou United FC in the 22nd minute of the match before Gibril Sima extended their lead in the 38th minute thus the first half ended 2-0 in favour of Sabou United FC.<\/p>\n

Buba Ceesay alias Kanka, pulled a goal back for Gidda FC in the 50th minute of the match, which eventually proved to be a consolation for the Brikama Gidda based-club.<\/p>\n

Gibril Sima netted the third goal for Sabou United in the 65th minute of the match to complete his brace thus the match ended 3-1 in favour of Sabou United FC.<\/p>\n

The win earns Sabou United FC a place in the annual Brikama nawetan proper.<\/p>\n

The defeat saw Gidda FC out of the Brikama nawetan qualifiers after losing to Sabou United FC in their play-off match.<\/p>\n
