Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The attorney for the 33 Bakau youths, who allegedly rioted in Bakau in December of last year, has asked for a speedy dispensation of justice.<\/b><\/p>\n

The youths, including opposition politician Doudou Kassa Jattahave been charged with seven counts of conspiracy and felony.<\/p>\n

But their lawyer on Thursday raised concern over the slow pace of their trial following several setbacks.<\/p>\n

Counsel Muhammed Deen yesterday filed an application at theKanifing Magistrates\u2019 Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Omar Jabang for an expeditious and fair trial.<\/p>\n

His application came when the case failed to proceed again.<\/p>\n

Dodou Kasa Jatta , Amadou Faye , Modou J. Jallow , AmadouJallow , Mahammed Jallow , Salihena Conteh , Sory Camara , Lamin Samura , Pa Lamin Janneh ,Alieu Sainey Sanyang ,Pa Modou Jatta ,Lamin Saho , Lamin Jammeh ,Muhammed Faal , Lamin Saho , Momodou Gassama , Alpha Camara , LaminSillah , Mass Susso , Omar Camara , Modou Salieu Jallow ,Baba Sarr ,Ousman Ceesay ,Ebrima Daffeh , Ebrima Mboob ,AlieuJallow , Mam Ngorr Ceesay , Muhammed Davies , Pa Ali Jammeh and Adala Ndow, stand accused of conspiring among themselves on 1 December 2022, at Bakau in the KanifingMunicipality, to commit a felony by rioting in the coastal town.<\/p>\n
