Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>In a bid to provide accessible and affordable eye care services to the public, I-Care Optics on Wednesday inaugurated a new branch in Basse at a colourful ceremony held in the Upper River Region.<\/b><\/p>\n

Established on 15th June 2022, the eye-care clinic seeks to provide efficient, accessible and affordable eye-care services and products for people in The Gambia.<\/p>\n

Moreover, officials indicated that part of fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities includes offering free eye screening for several public institutions, schools and financially weak people.<\/p>\n

At the event, Muhammad Alam, founder and CEO of I-Care Optics, said the new branch in Basse aims to help the entire residents of URR to have affordable and accessible eye services without traveling to Banjul or Senegal just to get eye services.<\/p>\n

He also assured the people in the region that with the coming of their new branch, customers would enjoy the same eye care service, glasses and medication as the people of Banjul, Kanifing Municipality and the West Coast region.<\/p>\n

“Since our establishment, the facility has contributed immensely to the development of The Gambia, noting that it recently provided free eye examinations for people at its branches in Serekunda and Senegambia respectively.”<\/p>\n

Alam spoke of his Institution’s resolve to continue providing effective and efficient eye care services in the county.<\/p>\n

Representing the Governor of Upper River Region, Muhammad Krubally, chief of Fulladu East, described the inauguration of the only eye clinic in the area as ‘timely and laudable.’<\/p>\n

Sellou Jallow, head of Basse town commended the CEO and management of I-Care Optics for what he called a ‘good initiative in that busy commercial and administrative town.<\/p>\n

The eye clinic, he added, would greatly help the people of Basse, satellite communities, residents of the Central River Region and even beyond to get the needed services.<\/p>\n

Omar Njie, a close friend to the CEO of I-Care Optics, and Abubacarr Krubally, a resident of Basse, both described and hailed the move as one in the right direction.<\/p>\n
