Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Yahya Manneh, head coach of The Gambia Women\u2019s National Team has made a clarion call to improve some of the aspects in the country\u2019s female national team such as physical, psychological and social strengths.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to improve some of the aspects of the female football team.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2018This, I think if we do as a nation there can be a massive difference,\u2019\u2019 Coach Manneh said as Gambia\u2019s female team slipped to Namibia 5-2 on aggregate in their qualifier matches played in Morocco.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt shouldn\u2019t have to be only an individual but holistically the nation has to give support to the female team,\u2019\u2019 said Coach Manneh during an interview.<\/p>\n

The newly appointed coach of the Senior Women\u2019s national team was speaking shortly after the Queen Scorpions second-leg defeat to Namibia during their AWCON qualifier matches played in Morocco on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Gambia Queens Scorpions lost both their home and away fixtures of the Africa Women\u2019s Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifiers against Namibia 5-2 on aggregate.<\/p>\n

The Gambia lost to Namibia 3-2 in the first leg before losing them 2-0 in the second leg.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe accept the outcome of the results and move on as a nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTechnically, we are far better than our opponents and our technical ability is second to none,\u201d coach Manneh explained.<\/p>\n

He noted that technical ability is not the only aspect in football, noting that there are other components in football such as physical, psychological and the social aspects.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are the three areas we need to firmly improve. To be honest, our opponents, Namibians deserve their victory.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to coach Manneh, their game plan for the second-leg was to score first and not to concede any goal after losing the first leg, adding that since that didn\u2019t happen, they had to accept and move on.<\/p>\n
