Africa-Press<\/a> – Gambia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Gambia\u2019s young talented Actress, Ms Mariama Colley, has been nominated for the US Hollywood International Golden Film Awards 2020.<\/p>\n

The Brikama born actress is nominated for her lead role in a short film called M\u00c8B\u00c8T in 2019. She has been selected under the category for Outstanding Up and Comer Actress 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, I am so excited to announce that I\u2019ve been nominated for the US Hollywood International Golden Film Awards 2020,\u201d Ms Colley wrote on her page.
\nThe young actress is the founder of Studio 411 Production. She is a radio personality, gender right actvist, stage and film actress whose passion is rooted in utilizing art as a platform to effect change within her community.<\/p>\n

Mariama uses her radio platform to host mentorship show for young people on pertinent societal issues affecting their society.<\/p>\n

In 2013, Mariama was nominated for the African Oscar Awards. She was recently awarded National Certificate of Merit as \u2018Youth of The Month\u2019 by the Ministry of Youths and Sports in collaboration with the Balance Group, for her contribution to national development.<\/p>\n

Mebet tells the story of one girl\u2019s attempt to turn the tragedies of the past into lessons for the future. It is a conversation across generations to deliver positive change. The film showcases aspects of African culture to counter the negative narratives about the continent, and portray the reality of our journeys through stories of resilience and hope.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the US Hollywood Int\u2019l Golden Film Awards is a festival that showcase feature & shorts films from around the world as well as providing a amazing Int\u2019l distribution platform for up and coming filmmakers in independent feature films.
