Lamin Sonko knows as Fa Lang, who is a member of the United Democratic Party has testified before Truth Reconciliation and Reparation Commission and gave details around their 14 April demonstration on electoral reforms.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cHow April 14 incident took place was, one day I was at the garage with my vehicle and Ebrima Solo Sandeng call me and asked me where am I? Later I took him to his home and he said to me Fa Lang what you have said is the truth mare prayer will not remove Yahya Jammeh,\u201d he told the commission.<\/b><\/p>\n

He said Solo Sandeng then suggested that they should have a meeting at Brikama about the electoral reform in order to protest.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to him Solo Sandeng told him that he has small amount of money to gather people to protest on Thursday and they should buy new Sim card to communicate for them to avoid Ousainou Darboe stoppage.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cOn Thursday14, April 2016, after their gathering at UDP bureau at Manjang they later went to Tipper Garage and further proceed to Serrekunda (Baboo) where they start the protest about sixty people without a permit. Some decided to return back as some were assuming that their relative will not see them again,\u201d he said.<\/b><\/p>\n

He stated that: \u201cAbdoulie Sanneh wanted to arrest Solo Sandeng who insisted of no going anywhere, later Para Military arrive and some ran away but the police ran after them and that was the time they arrested 26 of us but we were not in the same vehicle with Soloo Sandeng.. We were later taken to mile 2 but Soloo Sandeng, Modou Ngum and Nokoi Njjie were directed by Abdoulie Sanneh to be taken to the NIA headquarter.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

However, he said they were taken to Mile 2 and their statement was taken almost three times, but well ahead they were taken to NIA headquarter were they were serious torture then later proceeded to court for trial.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
