{"id":46016,"date":"2023-10-30T14:28:32","date_gmt":"2023-10-30T14:28:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/uncategorized\/nftr-pledges-to-complement-tax-authority-to-boost-compliance"},"modified":"2023-10-30T14:46:38","modified_gmt":"2023-10-30T14:46:38","slug":"nftr-pledges-to-complement-tax-authority-to-boost-compliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/all-news\/nftr-pledges-to-complement-tax-authority-to-boost-compliance","title":{"rendered":"NFTR\u00a0pledges\u00a0to complement tax authority to boost compliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Gambia. <\/strong><\/span><b>The President of the Network of Financial and Tax Reporters (NFTR) Gambia Chapter, Mr. Abdoulie Nyocke has stated that NFTR was formed to establish a strong collaboration between Tax reporters and revenue administration to enhance tax education and awareness in supporting domestic revenue mobilization.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>He made this statement while delivering his welcoming remarks during the official opening of a one-day media engagement forum on the \u201cRole of journalists in enhancing public-private partnership\u201d (PPP) held at the Regional Education Office, Brikama last Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>NFTR -Gambia Chapter, he explained, was formed in March 2019, to closely work with the Tax Authority to raise awareness for revenue mobilization for the government.<\/p>\n<p>The Idea of establishing the NFTR Gambia chapter, he went on, emanated as an outcome of the African Tax Administration Forum ATAF 2nd media Engagement training for 70 journalists and communicators from 22 countries including the Gambia, held in Kigali, Rwanda 2019 and the NFTR president was lucky to represent the Gambia in the remarkable forum.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that the primary objective of the Network is to ensure that there is transparency on the payment of taxes between the government, business community, and the tax authority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe mission of the NFTR is to compliment government efforts in tax education and sensitization to ensure tax compliance,\u201d he stated<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe this forum is geared toward establishing a strong partnership between media practitioners, public and private sectors,\u201d he expressed his believe.<\/p>\n<p>However, the NFTR president thanked the Jah Oil Company Chief Executive Officer \u2013 hamidou Jah for sponsoring the daylong training on PPP for journalists to help create awareness regarding the role of the media regarding the public-private partnership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\">Gambia<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Gambia.
