Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Jah Oil said the allegation that the company was dealing in sub-standard fuel has caused the company a loss of business.<\/b><\/p>\n

This disclosure was made by the company\u2019s general manager Momodou Hydara in a recent engagement with the press.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Hydara, the allegation was a calculated attempt to soil the reputation of the company, adding that the allegation caught the public\u2019s attention to the point that it affected the company.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut my CEO would say let them say whatever they wish but they cannot change how we do things,\u201d Hydara stressed.<\/p>\n

The Jah Oil Company GM explained that its relatively cheaper fuel price is in line with the company\u2019s business model of giving back to society.<\/p>\n

He stated that some fuel companies came up with the allegation against his company due to its market dominance, saying it [allegation] was being bandied around town that the company was selling fuel that was spoiling people\u2019s cars. Hydara said even mechanics were spreading the information which, he pointed out, negatively impacted business.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe it was not right. It was all lies because the storage tank in Mandinaring is where all of us collect our fuel,\u201d stated the Jah Oil Company GM.<\/p>\n

He rubbished claims the company was adding kerosene to its petrol and diesel to increase quantity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t even order kerosene in this country. The only two products we do[order] are petrol and diesel,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

On claims that the company was adding oil to its products, Mr. Hydara said: \u201cWas the liter of oil more expensive than both diesel and petrol? It will not be a good business strategy to buy a product that is more expensive than our product in order to increase quantity to make a profit.\u201d<\/p>\n
