Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Ebrima Camara, one of the country\u2019s most endowed and naturally talented rising artists who goes by the moniker Double 9, recently recorded and released an inspiring single \u2018Beachside\u2019 as he continues striving to hit the country\u2019s musical limelight.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a recent interview the Kerr Serigne-born artist, who is grinding the hardest and giving his best while anticipating to clutch his spot in GamMusic, explains how and why he ventured into music and also detailed the inspiration behind his latest song.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat inspired me into music is that music is something I love, something that I like. I can say that it is truly part of my spirit. I also like performance; I like to perform a lot, and that is one of my greatest inspirations for music.\u201d<\/p>\n

The young artist began singing in 2019 but did not get the opportunity to record in a professional studio until 2021, when he recorded his first song.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom 2019 to 2020, I used to hold a bluetooth speaker on one side with the beat (rhythm) playing on the phone on the other side and then record my song,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

He told this medium that it is the encouragement and endorsement of his talent by people around him \u2013 his family, friends and acquaintances – that gave him the courage and determination to venture into music. \u201cIt is all because of them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey told me to keep it up, and that things shall get better,\u201d he repeated.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his most recent song titled \u2018Beachside\u2019, which is available on Audio Mack and other popular streaming platforms, he said: \u201cIt was one early morning when I went to the beachside, and while I was merely listening to a beat, the idea struck my mind. Then I started doing some freestyle and singing, \u2018I am on the beach side; I am having my own vibes; I am living my own life, while the niggers wanna see suicide.\u201d<\/p>\n

The artist added that this was how he went on to construct and develop the entire song.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his signing by VisionProd Music – new music label whose vision is to give young up-and-coming grassroots artistes the opportunity to realise their dreams – he said he had seen a lot of changes.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince I was signed to VisionProd Music, I normally have free video shootings and free recording. All that I can say about VisionProd is that it is a great music label.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2021, when I recorded my first song called Flick Around, we were three; we were a gang. The gang did not suit my needs that much because it was somehow slow. So I told them that I was going to be a solo artist. When I was there, we released \u2018Flick Around\u2019 and then \u2018Chono Bi\u2019. Then after I became solo, I dropped my first single \u2018Love for the Paper\u2019 and I still continue to look for ways to strengthen and further develop my craft as an artist.<\/p>\n

As a youngster and one of the youngest artistes in the industry, he hopes to build a prosperous and successful career through the dissemination of \u201ctrue and genuine message\u201d to listeners and earn to live a decent life.<\/p>\n
