Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Sheikhna Faal the former press secretary of the Gambia Action Party (GAP) has cross-carpeted to the United Democratic Party (UDP).<\/b><\/p>\n

This was disclosed during an interview Faal granted to this paper recently. \u201cThe choices I make, no matter how critical they are but they determined the path I intend to take,\u2019\u2019 he remarked.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2016, when I decided to take the political path, all I intended was to effect the change that my people needed and by then I was convinced GAP was the solution based on its agenda put forward.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

He said he became a very important founding member of the party until the 2021 elections when almost all the leaders he had worked with decided to join Barrow\u2019s party since then he realized that the agenda was different and he decided to work with Mama Kandeh, the GDC leader.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis country needs a change and I believe it is only possible through UDP, unless Gambians accept the mess Barrow is doing,\u2019\u2019 he argued.<\/p>\n

He says the country is plunged into darkness and the citizens are the ones facing the burden and yet still many have failed to notice, adding that, the sooner Gambians realize that, the better for the next generation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is heartbreaking and sad that our citizens continue to face challenges which the government refuses to address and the situation is getting worse.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Faal opined that, everything about the country is ruined \u2013 \u201cour health sector, education, and others are in a mess, and that alone should worry the government because without good health, good education, good standard of living I don\u2019t think the country will develop.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThese issues are key and everyone deserves them since without them the country will not be in peace. Such a decision cannot come at a better time than now when all we need is to come together and rescue our people from drowning. I concluded that it\u2019s either you choose to align yourself with NPP with all the damages or choose UDP to make the change,\u2019\u2019 Mr. Faalconcluded.<\/p>\n
