Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Managing Director of Trust Bank Gambia Limited has acknowledged the support and patronage of The Gambian populace in the growth and prosperity of the bank these past years.<\/b><\/p>\n

Njilan Senghore was speaking on Tuesday at the Kanifing General Hospital (KGH) as the bank made a handsome presentation of items worth over D200,000 to the hospital. The items which include water dispensers, chairs, ceiling fans and detergents among a host of others, was part of its annual support to major hospitals across the country.<\/p>\n

To that end, MD Senghore emphasised that while growing, it is also their duty to give back to the communities, which she said, forms the cornerstone of their success.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur aim is to give back in a structured and sustainable manner that ensures the greatest positive impact to the beneficiaries. To achieve this, we carry out a need gap analysis with target hospitals to be able to accurately measure areas where our support is most needed. This enables us to deliver support that are relevant and impactful to the hospitals.\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

MD Senghore equally noted that the donation was not just a financial contribution, but that it was a symbol of their enduring commitment to improving the quality of life for everybody.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that healthcare is a fundamental right and every individual deserves access to high-quality medical services, regardless of their socio-economic background.\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n

Later on Tuesday, the bank made another presentation of essential medical supplies in the form of dialysis, bloodlines, acetic concentrate and acetate to the Dialysis Unit of The Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul.<\/p>\n

The items are valued over 300,000 and demonstrate and fulfill the bank\u2019s corporate social responsibility.<\/p>\n

At the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), MD Senghore recalled that in 2019, the bank lost a valued member of staff Mr. Ebrima Frazer to the old hands of death.<\/p>\n

She recounted that Frazer used to come to the facility weekly for dialysis treatment, noting that as a bank they are deeply interested in the welfare of our community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have firsthand knowledge of how difficult such a condition can be for the patient and the people around them. So today, we present these items in his memory and ask for prayers from everyone here for his soul to Rest In Peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

To this end, she emphasized that it is disheartening to witness the suffering experienced by individuals who require regular dialysis but are unable to access or afford the treatment they desperately need.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe EFSTH dialysis unit serves as a lifeline for those battling kidney disease, enabling them to receive life-saving treatment and offering hope for a brighter tomorrow.\u201d MD Senghore said.<\/p>\n

She noted that by donating to the dialysis unit of EFSTH, they can directly impact the lives of those requiring dialysis treatment, providing them with improved accessibility, enhanced care and a renewed sense of hope.<\/p>\n

Receiving the items, Dr. Abubacarr Jagne, Deputy Chief Medical Director at the EFSTH, thanked Trust Bank for consistently looking after people with dialysis care.<\/p>\n

He acknowledged the contribution of the bank to the country\u2019s main referral hospital these past years, saying the bank has supported the EFSTH in all forms.<\/p>\n

For his part, Kebba Sanneh, Principal Public Relations Officer at the EFSTH, said that Dialysis Unit is a very sensitive area in the country, and thanked the bank for their support to the EFSTH.<\/p>\n

He assured that the items donated would be used for its intended purpose of saving lives, especially those suffering from kidney disease.<\/p>\n
