Kombo Yiriwa Kafo (KYK) in partnership with Your Change for a Change (YCFaC) recently conducted a day-long clinical outreach in Gunjur, Kombo South.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They provided free medical care to more than 300 patients.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They said the aim was also to educate, empower and inspire people in all aspects of health with special emphasis on communicable and non communicable diseases.<\/p>\n

It was orgnanised under the theme a healthy Kombo for all.<\/p>\n

Alieu Jallow, programme officer of YCFaC, said the Gunjur outreach was the third of its kind in the association\u2019s recent history.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis health fair started in 2014. We felt the the need to come up with something unique such as this health fair,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said they have now reached all regions of The Gambia, treating patients, and that plans are underway to making the initiative even bigger.<\/p>\n

YCFaC was formed in 2011 by young Gambians in the diaspora.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey feel there is a need to give back to various communities back home in The Gambia by gathering the little things that they have over there, send them back home to make an impact in communities,\u201d Jallow explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to give quality and quantitative health care to all,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Giki Darboe, Alkalo of Gunjur, thanked the organisation for the \u201claudable initiative\u201d.<\/p>\n

Alh Babou Sarr, focal person for resources mobilisation in Kombo Yiriwa Kafo, said the outreach began in Faraba Banta, where more than 350 patients received treatment.
\n\u201cFrom here in Gunjur, we will be going to Mandinaring,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
